Are You FLYing?

"FLYing" is from the FlyLady website: www.flylady.net. "FLYing" stands for Finally Loving Yourself. I am getting to that point which is so freeing because it is the truth and like the Bible says, "The truth shall set you free!" God wants me to love myself because He created me in His image, so if I love God than I should in turn love myself!!!!

All that to say, this was on an email from FlyLady. I wanted to share it with you all.

Dear FlyLady and flybabies, I just wanted to send a huge kiss and a hug to all of you for helpingmy family through some very difficult times. I am sorry if this might seem long but there is just so much to thank you all for that I just can't help it. I am a SAHM with an at home Internet Service Provider business withone beautiful DD (11) and one great DS (6) and of course let's not forget one very Flywashed loving DH! Before you, my family as well as my home was in CHAOS (both Flyladyterm and literally). I can't even begin to tell you how much fighting there was at home. Long story short, I was the root of it all! I had depression brought on by stress from a new home, loss of my job, new business, and three deaths of people who were my anchors in life to a variety of disease. I couldn't cope and keep up with everything else. Almost destroyed my marriage and my family from this.

So how have you all helped me?

1. My routines free up my time to rediscover my wonderful smart, sweetand caring kids whom have taught ME! how to apply Flylady.

2. The children bless other children with FREE GARAGE SALES of theirtoys that they don't play with anymore and books and craft items aredonated to our local Community centers and Christian schools. Theypick it all and arrange them all themselves! Which means:

3. Everything can be done 15 minutes at a time! They set their timers for homework, 15 minute tiddy (their rooms), their control journals(they use your Student planner and their own calendars with your stickers), and their own morning and before-bed routines. No telling them to do anything!!!! Yay!

4.Getting rid of clutter! I can actually manage everything better this way. I do 27 fling boogies not to the garbage but to the local charities whenever possible.

5. A wonderful DH that when he sees me feeling down reminds me that"You are not far behind. Just pick up where you left off! Remember, no one likes a martyr and you should never let your inner brat defeat all the great things you are doing for yourself!"

6. My DH and I are no longer yelling because of the wonderful God breezes you and Tom send our way! Our children are true mirrors of ourselves and attitudes we project onto others! They stopped fighting with one another because of this! They treat themselves and each other with respect and work as a team to "Help mommy not be sad anymore." (What a purple puddle moment for me!)

7. Moving for 15 minutes at a time. Even if it is to go and get more water! Haven't lost weight yet but my doctor is taking me off my antidepressants because my body is REJECTING THEM! My endorphins are up (the happy hormones), my metabolism is increasing and my endurance is great! I am nowhere near as tired or cranky as I used to be!

8. Leanne's menu mailer (the low-carb way)! Don't feel bloated or disgusted when I make a new dish and then there are the perpetual purple puddles that come with it! From my DS (after he sprints offthe table to hug me): "You must love me a lot today Mommy! You made me a special dinner. Was I a really good boy today?" I still cry over this! All I made him was a Cream of Artichoke Heart soup!! How terrible must I have been that he thought this was the most special thing that I ever did for him?!! What kind of a mother have I been to my children for acting like a useless martyr!

9. Joining Freecycle as a recommendation from a Flybaby testimonial. We have blessed a little girl who lost everything she had in life with just a few American Girl books and some clothes my DD took out of her closet and her special Peep pillow that she picked out. A little boy who is in need of a Kangaroo Climber that is just sitting in my backyard collecting wildlife. And a new mom who needs a baby stroller. We gave her that and the matching carseat that goes with it. What a wonderful and liberating experience!

10. Donating all my old towels and blanket to the SPCA for those poor creatures who will need them this coming winter. 22 towels and 5 queen-size blankets!!!! And I get back one new closet! I will bevolunteering next year to help there since we can't own a pet due to asthma and allergies. I have been fluttering for about 2 years now. It has not been easy for me but the payback is enormous. I finally have a life and I am so proud of everyone involved. I finally don't feel alone, sad, depressed and clueless. Every testimonial keeps me going and looking forward to the future. I couldn't have done it if it wasn't foreveryone involved. I know this is a very long testimonial but I just needed to let you know that I think this is an amazing thing you are doing for all of us. Thank you for just keeping me alive.

Sincerely,Flybaby in NY

Prayers Needed Please!

Hello everyone!

Please pray for my sister, Dawn, and my niece, Addison. My brother-in-law, Chris, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 29th. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it down to the service due to budgetary constraints. My entire family is in shock. Any and all prayers for my family would be much appreciated. Dawn is a school teacher, so she will miss this entire week of school. This is abnormal for her to be gone like that, so she will encounter questions from her students upon her return. Please pray for God to give her strength along with daily encouragement and reminders of his unconditional love for her.

Thank you very much for your love and prayers!
